Now, it’s great to see that Scottish voters can see through the media hype surrounding Nigel Farage, but once again I am struck by the lack of understanding of the basic point behind independence. It is a permanent change, and people’s views of it should not be influenced by short-term events, and particularly not by whichever Right Wing politician is prime Minister. People like Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Nigel Farage are merely symptoms of the malaise in UK politics.
